Today, from its headquarters at Woolston, Warrington, Fleet Parts supplies components to over 400 commercial vehicle motor factors and fleet operators in the U.K. The company also exports to many other European countries. Fleet Parts now employs more than 60 staff, and has an annual turnover of several million pounds.

In addition to its base at Woolston, the company has a nearby engineering division which operates under the name of Hardwick Engineering; a smaller scale re-manufacturing and distribution depot in Crawley, West Sussex which opened as recently as September 1996, and which is already proving to be a highly successful operation.

Even more recently, the company has extended its Woolston premises by building a 6,000 sq. ft. extension which now houses the entire spring brake section of the re-manufacturing department.

Fleet Parts can now boast what is probably the largest stock of the off-the-shelf parts of its kind in the country. Over 10,000 parts lines, including air brakes components and calipers are in stock at any given time. As a result, the company can supply more than 90% of its orders on the spot. On those rare occasions when a required part is not held in stock, Fleet Parts has the capacity to re-manufacture what is needed within 24 hours, depending on the availability of old core and overhaul parts. The company also operates a V.O.R. delivery service which enables us to meet its commitment to all-round customer service, geared to keeping fleets on the move.

Fleet Parts has seen an extensive increase in its product range over the past few years, particularly with respect to air suspension and anti-skid equipment.

The company has always recognised the need to remain flexible in its approach to product development, and it maintains a policy of investing in new tools and machinery in order to meet the demands of the marketplace.

The company has kept pace with the latest technology over the past 30 years and is today a distributor for one of the largest European automotive diagnostic companies, TEXA.

TEXA S.P.A offer multi-make, multi-system electronic diagnostic equipment for Trucks, Trailers, Buses, Cars and Motorbikes. Some features include fault code reading and clearing, live data displays, component activation and some ECU re-programming.

Introduction
 

“Fleet Parts Limited” produce and distribute all Pneumatic Components, Clutch & Disc Brake Calipers.

 “Hardwick Engineering” are a Division of Fleet Parts, and are a provider of Engineering Services.

• FP have over 30 years experience in the Bus, Rail and Truck & Trailer industry. Approximately 50% of our product offering is in-house factory remanufactured pneumatic braking, suspension and throttle control equipment, and Disc Brake Calipers. The remaining 50% is made up of New Generic, and O.E.M. pneumatic equipment. FP have 40,025 square feet of premises undercover at their sites in Warrington, with a further 2,228 square feet at their Crawley Distribution Depot.

Approval

• FP have ISO 9001:2000 certification, and have been continuously approved since February 1991. FP have a Supplier Number issued by the M.O.D., supply the Rail Industry, and were assessed and given a Supplier A status by Lex Auto Logistics in 2004.

Insurance

• FP have £2million of Product Liability Insurance.

Processes

• A batch control process is used to control all critical spares used in remanufacturing, and these are documented on each Workshop Job Number for traceability.
• FP use long-standing suppliers with a proven track record and all receipts are inspected.
• Calibration systems are in place, which have been devised and are monitored by the Quality Assurance Department.
• After final test, finished products are permanently marked with the Workshop Job Number, allowing full traceability.

• Director Lorraine Lowe is responsible for Quality Assurance. Lorraine has a “BA” in Business Studies.
• Lorraine has qualifications from the Institute of Quality Assurance, obtained at Manchester University.

Workshop (Compressors / Valves)

• Our Workshop Foreman and Workshop Manager have 58 years experience between them at FP.

Workshop (Brake Chambers)

• The Section Leader in charge of the Brake Chamber Section has over 20 years experience within this Department.

Workshop (Brake Calipers)

• The Section Leader in charge of the Brake Caliper Section has over 20 years experience within the Company.

Workshop (Engineering)

• FP employ six qualified Engineers. The two most senior of these have over 40 years experience within the company between them.

Warranty

• FP warrants all products for 12 Months.

Capacity

The company employs 67 people, 38 of whom are directly involved in production.

Our current stockholding is £0.5Million.

Subject to parts and labour availability, FP can offer an eight hour turnaround time for a non-stocked part.

Delivery

From our Head Office in Warrington, FP have eight Delivery Vehicles. From our Satellite Distribution Depot in Crawley West Sussex, there are a further three Delivery Vehicles. The map illustrates our van delivery schedule frequency, subject to Customer Orders.

FP also offer a next day Courier Service. Our preferred Couriers are APC, City Link, or DHL.

Packaging

FP products are currently packaged in clear p.v.c. FP branded bags, with the exception of Disc Brake Calipers, which are packaged using suitable grade cardboard boxes.
